Ellison Hargis King, MS, EdS, LPCA

Ellison Hargis King is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who works with children and teens as they navigate life’s ups and downs. She brings a warm, grounded presence to therapy, helping people feel seen, understood, and safe to grow. As an associate-licensed therapist, she does not bill insurance, and offers a reduced rate of $80 per 55-minute session. Ellison sees clients 18 and under on Mondays only at the North Main Counseling office.

Ellison earned her MS and EdS degrees in counseling from UNC Greensboro in 2016 and has worked as an elementary school counselor ever since. She became licensed as an LPCA in South Carolina in February 2025. Her work focuses on supporting kids who struggle with regulating their emotions due to anxiety, ADHD, autism, life stressors, or something more difficult to pinpoint. She’s especially interested in play therapy and in creating inclusive, equitable spaces for all young people. Her approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and a genuine respect for each child’s voice and needs, while working closely with families to ensure that everyone involved is experiencing the benefits of therapy.

Ellison has called Greenville home since moving from North Carolina in June 2024. When she’s not working, she loves spending time with her husband and dog, tending to her houseplants, running (slowly), and being creative.
